I was porting over just a couple of my fathers sermons to my demo site for testing in a ‘virgin’ bp environment.

    Here is an example:

    things to notice:
    1. There are a few scriptures that somehow are not being picked up by biblefox. I see no correlation between the ones that are and those that are not. Syntax looks the same to me.

Believe it or not, this is how most all of dads notes look like. I have approx 3,000 sermons in this format that he has done over the years from the 6500 services. (you get that many sermons by preaching 6 days a week 2x a day for almost 18 years, and never being home for more than a month a year…)

    :)
I warned ya.. Our family absolutely loves studying the Bible. I think we’re pretty good candidates at pushing the limits of biblefox.

reminds me.. I could really use the Bible search addon if you have it handy.

Well I hope this helps, I did find a few more bugs to report, but it’s 2am and I’m getting tired. Back to the grindstone tomorrow

So, on the page you sent me I noticed this string: “1. Judges 13:20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on [it], and fell on their faces to the ground.”

The Judges 13:20 is not becoming a link because it is part of two separate spans – Judges is surrounded by one span and the 13:20 is surrounded by a different span, preventing my parser from detecting it as a scripture reference.

It would be nice for my plugin to detect that, but I don’t know if it ever will be able to. There has to be a balance between being really accepting and detecting more references and being strict and not detecting false positives.

I also noticed that page has a ton of verse references without book names. Someday I want Biblefox to detect those. The difficulty is in figuring out which book it is referencing based on the context.

    thanks for looking into it.

I erased the website and started over so the links are no longer valid. I’m in the middle of getting ready for multi-network buddypress, and had to get a lot of things situated first.

I will be doing a lot more testing shortly and will report back anything new that I find.
