I’m just curious if you happen to have any translation available in spanish that I can add to my server translations. I prefer the KJV, but beggars can’t be choosers lol..

    also curious:
I know that I don’t have the reading plans portion of the plugin yet, but by any chance is it setup for multilingual installs? (.pot/.mo file capable -wpml).

If not, I don’t mind spending the time to get it working. I have had to modify a couple of smaller plugins in the past to use .mo files, and it’s not hard, just very tedious work.

I added a .pot file to the plugin in the latest version (0.8.3). If you someone would want to make a Spanish .mo file from that that would be great.

But, translating Biblefox into Spanish is more complicated than just creating a mo file. Biblefox contains a list of abbreviations for books of the Bible that need to be translated as well. These abbreviations are used to create a regular expression that can be used to search a blog post for Bible references.

Obviously, in Spanish the abbreviations would be different, so I would need a list of what they are. I will also need to program some option for switching between English and Spanish versions of the abbreviations.

I have 3 spanish speaking friends who are pastors, so getting the translations into Spanish should be fairly simple for me. I will upgrade to (0.8.3) and get the information to them next week. They are on a crusade at the moment. I can walk them through the process of translating the .mo files by hand as they are in no way computer literate.

I will also ask them about the abbreviations for the Spanish books of the Bible. I personally wouldn’t even know what they would be, but they will.

Right now, I think they would be happy to just have a Spanish .sql of the KJV of the Bible that they could choose from in the dropdown. I’ve searched the net but so far have not found a good download. I will keep looking.

For the most part, I am going to ‘dump’ this project onto their shoulders as I don’t personally have much need for Spanish setups. I had just done a demo of Biblefox for them and they liked the idea, so I was passing along their requests.
